Every construction project in Halton Region goes through four phases of project management. Learn about the phases of managing a construction project.

Halton Region follows a four-phased project management process for every infrastructure construction project.

 

Phase 1: Project Planning

  • Establish need for project.
  • Develop and approve budget.
  • Hold public and stakeholder consultations.
  • Complete an environmental assessment
 

Phase 2: Design and Approvals

  • Create detailed design for construction.
  • Hold public and stakeholder consultations.
  • Finalize environmental approvals.
  • Purchase land (when required).
  • Tender construction project.
 

Phase 3: Construction

  • Relocate utilities.
  • Construct road, or install pipes, or build facility.
  • Make connections to individual properties.
  • Complete initial paving.
 

Phase 4: Restoration

  • Complete final paving.
  • Landscape site.
  • Finish final site cleanup.
