Halton is Ready for Housing: Halton’s Financial Edge for Supporting Housing Targets
With a AAA/Aaa credit rating and a $9 billion 10-year capital plan, Halton is making strategic investments to ensure new homes can be built efficiently and sustainably.
With 92,500 new homes supported by existing infrastructure and 90,663 already in the development approval pipeline, we are ready to support local municipal housing pledges.

Top Credit Rating: Halton’s Aaa Rating Lowers the Cost for Long-term Infrastructure Projects
It's an Aaa rating again from Moody’s Investor Service! This affirms our strong financial position, enabling us to keep costs low as we build the roads, water, and wastewater infrastructure needed to accelerate growth.

Preventing Homelessness: Investments and Partnerships
In March, Council approved a 2025-2026 annual provincially funded Homelessness Prevention Program Investment Plan of $14.2 million, in addition to the $5,057,486 in the Federal Reaching Home Program investment, to address homelessness by providing emergency shelter programs, supportive housing, community outreach and housing assistance programs.

Through the Building Safer Communities Fund, we‘re investing $2.45 million in local non-profit programs that support youth mental health and provide mentorship and recreational initiatives to help keep our communities healthy, safe, and thriving.

High-Quality Water: Halton Water Treatment Plants are Award-Winning
Halton has received the Director’s Award for the fifth consecutive year from the American Water Works Association’s Partnership for Safe Water Program for the Burloak, Burlington, and Oakville Water Treatment Plants.

Paving the Way: Halton Hosts Engineering Consultant Open House
On March 24, Halton Region hosted the second annual Engineering Consultant Open House, bringing together over 200 industry leaders for an exclusive first look at upcoming municipal infrastructure projects. From Class Environmental Assessments to major construction and water/wastewater initiatives, this event was all about collaboration, innovation, and building a stronger future for our community.
