Halton is a large, diverse and great place to live and work; it continues to be one of the fastest growing communities in Canada with the population expected to reach one million by 2041. To ensure responsible growth and a sustainable future, Halton Region undertakes comprehensive planning, works closely with its partners and creates policies that support informed land use decisions.

It sets out goals and objectives that reflect resident needs and preserves the quality of life that we collectively value. These include how and when communities may grow, natural heritage preservation, employment land opportunities and where vital infrastructure such as roads, water and wastewater systems are needed.
