Halton Region has undertaken a Municipal Class Environmental Assessment (MCEA) Study to identify the preferred location for the new Halton Hills #4 Wastewater Pumping Station to support growth in the Premier Gateway Employment Area in the Town of Halton Hills. The new wastewater pumping station will service the area located north of Steeles Avenue between Ninth Line and Winston Churchill Boulevard. This project was identified in the South Halton Water and Wastewater Master Plan Update and confirmed in the Sustainable Halton Water and Wastewater Master Plan.


Oakville, ON – Today, Halton Regional Councillor Paul Sharman, representing Halton Regional Chair Gary Carr, joined members of Regional Council and Oakville Council as well as community partners to celebrate the opening of Halton’s newest assisted and supportive housing development at 265 Kerr Street in Oakville. The event also welcomed Elizabeth Chalmers, Constituency Manager for The Honourable Anita Anand, MP for Oakville East and Minister of Foreign Affairs, and Laura Smith, Parliamentary Assistant to the Provincial Minister of Municipal Affairs and Housing.

On June 16, Halton Region Public Health was made aware of a confirmed case of measles that has led to a potential exposure in Halton on June 12. Measles is a highly contagious disease that spreads easily through the air.

Halton Region Public Health has issued an Extended Heat Warning starting July 28, 2025 for Halton Region as a result of Environment Canada continuing its Heat Warning. An Extended Heat Warning is issued when the daytime temperatures are expected to reach at least 31 degrees Celsius with overnight temperatures above 20 degrees Celsius for three or more days, or when the humidex is expected to reach 40 for three or more days.

To ensure all residents and businesses continue to have reliable access to high-quality drinking water, Halton Region has undertaken an Addendum to the Municipal Class Environmental Assessment (MCEA) Study completed in 2012 for the Burloak Water Treatment Plant (WTP) Phase 2 Expansion, in the Town of Oakville.
