Regional developments in progress

With funding support from other levels of government, we have shovels in the ground and active construction on new assisted housing developments in our community.

265 Kerr Street, Oakville

Building summary

  • 52 total units for older adults
  • 30 one-bedroom units and 22 studios for homeless older adults with chronic health and mobility needs
  • Ground floor Community Wellness Hub serving tenants and older adults in the surrounding community (in partnership with Ontario Health teams)
  • Halton Region’s first Passive House Certified multi-residential building, which sets a standard for energy efficient building design and the use of sustainable resources

Additional benefits

The Community Wellness Hub (external link) will provide services similar to what is currently offered at Wellington Terrace Supportive Housing in Burlington and John R. Rhodes Residence in Oakville, which includes:

  • One-to-one support to connect you to local health and wellness services.
  • A community connector who helps coordinate your care.
  • Social events, exercise classes, and recreational activities to help you stay active and make new friends.
  • Workshops on a variety of topics including healthy living, mental health and managing medications.
  • Tablet device loans and internet access so you can keep in touch with friends and loved ones.
