Wyecroft Road Extension and Bridge Project

About this project

The road extension and bridge crossing will connect the City of Burlington and Town of Oakville over Bronte Creek, providing safe travel options for motorists, pedestrians, cyclists, transit users and first responders. Benefits of the project include:

  • providing motorists with another route, relieving traffic congestion on local roads and the QEW;
  • reducing the amount of time it takes to commute to Appleby and Bronte GO stations;
  • connecting adjacent employment lands, providing business owners, employees and consumers easier access to work and retail;
  • providing alternative transportation options with new pedestrian and cycling infrastructure; and
  • a new watermain to service future growth and support the water supply in Oakville.

Improvements include:

  • new four-lane roadway
  • bridge
  • maintaining clean drinking water
  • multi-use pathways
  • new on-road bike lanes
