Regional Chair Gary Carr: We’re building new connections in Halton!

As Halton grows, we’re building and improving roads, water and wastewater infrastructure to meet our community’s needs. These construction projects help:

connect people to the places they need to go;
provide clean, safe drinking water to homes and businesses; and
ensure wastewater is treated so that it can be returned safely to the environment.

I’d like to highlight one exciting project that is helping connect our community: the Wyecroft Road Extension and Bridge.

What’s happening on Wyecroft Road

Right now, Halton Region is building a new bridge that will extend Wyecroft Road to connect Burlington and Oakville. The four-lane road will make it faster, safer and easier for people to get where they need to go across the community. There will also be active transportation options so people can travel along the road in the way that works best for them—whether walking, biking, skating, using a wheelchair or driving.

Here are some other benefits:

less traffic on local roads and the nearby highway;
shorter commutes to Appleby and Bronte GO stations;
easier access to work and shopping areas; and
more ways to safely travel along Wyecroft Road.
