Halton Highlights – February 2025

Welcome to the February edition of Halton Highlights. This is the latest news on the projects and programs happening in Halton that help us live well, grow responsibly and thrive together.

Halton Community Housing Corporation making an impact

As the Region’s largest subsidized housing provider, the Halton Community Housing Corporation (HCHC) team manages 2,280 units, providing housing to nearly 4,000 residents across Halton. We work closely with community partners to offer programs and support that improve health and quality of life.

There is lots of exciting work going on including:

  • creation of new assisted housing units (265 Kerr Street is expected to open this summer);
  • enhanced tenant communication and supports;
  • expanded community programs and wellness initiatives for youth and older adults;
  • new Youth and Newcomer Advisory Committees; and
  • enhanced investments in security and expanded partnership with Halton Regional Police Service to support community safety and wellbeing.
