Temporary brush material collection changes in effect until
To support residents cleaning up storm-related brush material following the July 9 weather event, Halton Region has temporarily waived the requirement to bundle brush material for curbside collection until . Additional collection resources have been deployed to help expedite community clean-up efforts.
What you need to know:
Brush material does not need to be bundled for collection until .
Material must still be no longer than 2 metres (6 feet) in length, with branches no greater than 7.5 cm (3 inches) in diameter for safe collection.
Residents are encouraged to place brush material at the curb and leave it out for collection, as crews may be working in neighbourhoods on both regular collection days and additional collection days.
Accepted materials include branches, twigs and tree trimmings resulting from the storm. Construction materials, fencing and tree stumps will not be collected.
Rural residents: Storm-related brush material collection is not part of regular service. Residents in rural collection areas can call 311 to request a one-time special collection of eligible storm debris.
