Bridge and Culvert Rehabilitation Program
Bridge and Culvert Rehabilitation Program
About this project
Halton Region continues to maintain and upgrade existing bridges and culverts. Our multi-year Bridge and Culvert Rehabilitation Program ensures that bridge and culvert infrastructure are in a state of good repair which may include improvements to creek embankments, safety barriers (parapet walls), pedestrian/cyclist railings, and guide rails. It also ensures roads on top of culverts and bridges are resurfaced as needed.
A bridge and culvert are identified as:
Bridge
A structure which provides a roadway or walkway for the passage of vehicles, pedestrians or cyclists across an obstruction or gap.
Culvert
A pipe or small structure which allows for the conveyance of water under a roadway or walkway.
