Services for Seniors volunteer opportunities
Volunteers are important to Services For Seniors! Volunteers bring positivity, laughter and companionship to brighten the lives of residents, clients and staff.
The Villages of Halton offer opportunities for high school students to complete their volunteer requirements for graduating. High school co-op placements, college practicums, and university internships are available as well. There is a 40-hour commitment in a volunteer placement to ensure a beneficial experience for all parties.
Different programs designed to assist seniors
There are many different areas in which a volunteer can help with Services for Seniors:
- Long-term care homes – pastoral care, palliative care, recreation programs such as bingo, clerical duties, resident escorts, providing entertainment.
- Adult Day Programs – help with programming, serving meals, or accompany participants on outings.
If you have an interest in seniors, a willingness to help, time to give, and caring to share, find out how you can make a difference by helping the seniors in your community.
