About the project

Study overview

Halton Region is undertaking an Addendum to the Municipal Class Environmental Assessment (MCEA) study completed in for James Snow Parkway from Highway 401 to Neyagawa Boulevard. Since the 1999 study, the section of James Snow Parkway north of Britannia Road has been constructed and is now a Regional Road.

This study will explore the James Snow Parkway extension from Britannia Road to Highway 407 Express Toll Route (ETR), including the following road design considerations:

  • A new six-lane corridor
  • Active transportation facilities
  • Provisions for existing and future intersections
  • Protection for future transit priority corridor infrastructure
  • A crossing over East Sixteen Mile Creek

Project enters detailed design phase

This study is being conducted in accordance with the planning and design process for Schedule C projects as outlined in the Municipal Class Environmental Assessment process (external link) (October 2000, as amended 2007, 2011, 2015, 2023 and 2024), which is approved under the Ontario Environmental Assessment Act, RSO. 1990.
