About the project

Study overview

Halton Region is carrying out a Municipal Class Environmental Assessment Study for a New North Regional Road Corridor between Fifth Line and Sixth Line from Britannia Road (Regional Road 6) to Steeles Avenue (Regional Road 8) in the Towns of Halton Hills and Milton.

The study is examining a wide range of road improvements including a new corridor. In addition, the study will consider active transportation, traffic and intersection operations, structural, drainage, and cross-sectional requirements. Social, cultural and environmental impacts of the improvements will be assessed and evaluated through the study.

Environmental Study Report filed

This study is being conducted in accordance with the planning and design process for Schedule C projects as outlined in the Municipal Class Environmental Assessment process (external link) (October 2000, as amended 2007, 2011, 2015, 2023 and 2024), which is approved under the Ontario Environmental Assessment Act, RSO. 1990.
