Clean, safe drinking water – anytime you need it
Have you ever turned on your tap and wondered what it takes to get that clean, refreshing water straight to your home? Here at Halton, we work around the clock to ensure you always have access to safe, high-quality drinking water. Whether it’s for your morning coffee, a hospital’s critical needs, or a school’s water fountains, we’re here to make sure clean water flows whenever and wherever it’s needed.
In Halton, our drinking water comes from two key sources: Lake Ontario or groundwater wells. Before it reaches your home, the water is treated to meet strict provincial water quality standards, stored safely, and then distributed to homes and businesses through underground water systems. Throughout the process, we conduct regular water quality testing and complete an annual Water Quality Review and Report to ensure we meet or exceed the Safe Drinking Water Act, 2002 (external link) requirements.
