Halton Highlights

Celebrate Halton’s Paramedic Team with us!

It’s Paramedic Services Week! This week and all year, we celebrate the excellent work of the more than 260 Paramedics who provide life-saving care in Halton.

Bring your family & meet our team on May 31!

You’re invited to our annual Paramedic Day Community Open House! Join us for a day of free family fun, meet our dedicated team of paramedics, and celebrate all they do to keep us healthy and safe!

We have activities for the whole family! Climb on board emergency vehicles, check out the tactical paramedic gear, learn the basics of CPR, try our bouncy castles, face painting, and crafts, and get a bite from local food vendors!

Please bring a nonperishable food item for a chance to dunk a paramedic in our dunk tank! All items will be donated to Kerr Street Mission on behalf of Halton Region’s Paramedic Union, OPSEU Local 207.

We Care. For Everyone.

This year’s theme for Paramedic Services Week is "We Care. For Everyone." Our world-class team of Paramedics lives this statement every day—whether they’re providing life-saving pre-hospital care, helping older adults stay healthy at home, or supporting our partners like the Halton Regional Police Service, they are here for our community when we need it most.

The demand for paramedic services in Halton is estimated to rise by 4.7 percent each year between now and 2034. Our 10-year Paramedic Services Master Plan will help us maintain our level of service as the region's population ages and grows. It includes how we plan to build a new headquarters in Oakville and hubs across Halton. We’re also adding more Community Paramedics to support programs like the Community Paramedicine Program in partnership with other health agencies, which helps older adults manage their health at home and reduces 911 calls.

Watch our video that highlights some of the great work that our Community Paramedics are doing to empower older adults to be proactive in managing their health:
