Women Who Move Halton Forward: International Women’s Day

Article

Each year on March 8, communities around the world come together to celebrate International Women’s Day (IWD)—a moment to recognize the achievements, leadership, and resilience of women, girls, and gender‑diverse people. At Halton Region, these contributions aren’t just appreciated—they build and deliver the services we provide, and the communities we support.

Throughout this week and leading up to International Women’s Day, we are profiling some of the Women Who Move Halton Forward, highlighting the many ways women across our organization strengthen our region, elevate our services, and create lasting impact for residents.

Meet:

  • Dharali, who helps keep our water safe and our environment protected at the Skyway Wastewater Treatment Plant.
  • Nahal, a passionate public health professional at the Sexual Health Clinic, who provides confidential, inclusive, and accessible care.
  • Jaime, who leads our Facilities team and ensures our building systems run smoothly and that our public spaces are welcoming, safe and accessible for our visitors.
  • Kavita, whose work in Finance ensures strong fiscal management and value for taxpayers.
  • Jasreet, a member of our IT Help Desk, who helps staff stay connected and supported so they can deliver exceptional service.
  • Isa, a dedicated team member at Post Inn Village Long‑Term Care Home, who supports residents with compassion, dignity, and respect.

These individuals represent just a fraction of the remarkable women who contribute to Halton Region every day—leading teams, delivering essential services, innovating, solving problems, and uplifting their colleagues and community.

We will be posting their stories to LinkedIn, Instagram and Facebook every day until International Women’s Day on March 8. You are invited to follow along, like, share, and help amplify their stories. Your engagement helps recognize their impact and encourages others to reflect on the women who inspire and influence them.
