Town of Milton / Town of Halton Hills PR3430, PR3390, and PR3381

Study

Halton Region is carrying out a Municipal Class Environmental Assessment (MCEA) Study to consider a range of multi-modal transportation improvements including roadway widening, cross-sectional requirements, active transportation, transit supportive infrastructure, intersection improvements and overall traffic operations on the following corridors:

  • James Snow Parkway (Regional Road 4) from Britannia Road (Regional Road 6) to Highway 401;
  • Steeles Avenue (Regional Road 8) from Regional Road 25 to Trafalgar Road (Regional Road 3); and
  • Regional Road 25 from 5 Side Road to 10 Side Road.

The impacts of transportation improvements on social, cultural and natural environments will be assessed and evaluated throughout the study.

Process

The study is being carried out in accordance with Schedule C of the MCEA, (October 2000, as amended 2007, 2011, 2015 and 2023), which is an approved process under the Ontario Environmental Assessment Act.

A key component of the study is consultation with interested parties (public and review agencies) through Public Information Centres (PIC). The purpose of the first PIC is to review and obtain input on the study area needs and opportunities, background information, selection of the preferred solution, and next steps in the study.

Anyone with an interest in this study is invited to participate virtually. Members of the public can visit the online consultation webpage on halton.ca to view pre-recorded videos about the study, provide input through an online survey and learn more. The online PIC will be available as follows:
