Halton Highlights- March 2024

Recognizing Ogimaa Stacey Laforme

At February’s Regional Council meeting, I was pleased to congratulate Ogimaa (Chief) Stacey Laforme on his retirement as Chief of the Mississaugas of the Credit First Nation (external link) and recognize his outstanding leadership.

With Ogimaa Laforme’s guidance and support, Halton Region has worked closely with the Mississaugas of the Credit First Nation to advance and build meaningful relationships with Indigenous Peoples and Communities.

I would also like to welcome Ogimaa-Kwe (Chief) Claire Sault and the newly elected Mississaugas of the Credit First Nation Council. I am looking forward to continuing our work together and advancing our collaborative relationship.
