The Integrity Commissioner:

The Integrity Commissioner does not investigate complaints about Regional or Halton Community Housing Corporation staff. Those matters are handled by the Region’s Ombudsman.

Filing a complaint with the Integrity Commissioner

Complaints about breaches of Council’s Code of Conduct by one or more members of Regional Council can be forwarded to the Integrity Commissioner after completing the forms below. Regional staff will not assist in forwarding complaints to the Integrity Commissioner. Anonymous complaints will not be accepted.

Complete the application for an investigation under the Municipal Conflict of Interest Act pursuant to section 223.3 (1) of the Municipal Act, 2001, about Members of Council and local board, then send it to the Integrity Commissioner.

Complete the Code of Conduct complaint made under the Halton Regional Council Code of Conduct or the Halton Advisory Committee Code of Conduct to Halton Region’s Integrity Commissioner., then send it to the Integrity Commissioner.

Once you have completed the forms, send them to the contact information below. Please also contact the Integrity Commissioner if you have any questions, require assistance with the complaint process or require information in an alternate format.

What happens after submission

The Integrity Commissioner will:

  • review your complaint
  • determine whether or not it is a valid complaint that falls within the Integrity Commissioner’s jurisdiction
  • contact you regarding next steps in the process
