About the 2025 Budget
In 2025, the Regional portion of your property taxes will increase by 2.3%. Some major areas your tax dollars will be invested in include:
- delivering new assisted and supportive housing;
- enhancing paramedic response times;
- enhancing community social services;
- maintaining the state-of-good-repair of infrastructure; and
- improving our online service delivery.

- continues to prioritize supporting the goals identified through the 2023-2026 Strategic Business Plan; and
- is based on prudent, forward-looking financial planning principles that have earned Halton a AAA/Aaa Credit Rating for more than 30 years.

Key investments in 2025
- $18.4 million to support the state-of-good-repair of the water and wastewater systems.
- $4.0 million to deliver new assisted and supportive housing.
- $4.0 million to maintain Paramedic response times and provide funding for a new headquarters.
- $2.9 million to enhance digital services and support the implementation of the Region’s Digital Strategy.
- $2.8 million to keep Regional roads in a state-of-good-repair.
- $2.5 million to maintain high quality resident care at the Region’s three long-term care homes.
- $2.1 million to offset Provincial funding shortfalls to maintain service levels for cost-shared programs in Health and Social Services.
- $1.1 million to support assisted housing provider grants, Halton Community Housing Corporation program subsidy, and growth in the rent supplement program.
- $500,000 to bring the total Halton Community Investment funding up to $5 million in support of non-profit organizations delivering community services.
- $328,000 to support Halton's growing Ontario Works caseload.
