If you’re searching for a job or looking for new career opportunities, Halton Region can help. Each year, our Employment Halton staff help more than 12,000 job seekers find and maintain employment.
Services provided through Halton’s employment resource centres in Milton and Oakville or our Employment Programs and Supports webpage include:
- hiring events and job fairs;
- local job postings;
- job placement and training;
- youth employment programs; and
- addiction and mental health supports.
Our Employment Halton staff provide one-on-one support and can help job seekers identify opportunities that match their skills and interests. They can also help with preparing resumés and building skills for job interviews.
Employers from Halton’s business community can also receive support with their recruitment needs by participating in the Region’s programs. We support more than 250 employers each year by providing free job postings, job placement programs and opportunities to participate in our job fairs.
Our next job fair is on Tuesday, September 24 at the Oakville Conference Centre, located at 2515 Wyecroft Road in Oakville. If you are searching for a job, I encourage you to bring your resumé and join us between 10 a.m. and 1 p.m. Come prepared to network with local employers from the technology sector, government, manufacturing, retail, hospitality, healthcare and more. Halton Region will also be accepting resumés and interviewing candidates for a variety of roles in our three long-term care homes.
The Region remains committed to helping job seekers find meaningful work and connecting employers with qualified candidates through Employment Halton. We are fortunate our community has a low unemployment rate, skilled workforce and a thriving diverse business community—just a few of the many reasons why Halton is a great place to live, work, raise a family and retire.
