Regional Chair Gary Carr: Supporting our small business community

Halton’s local businesses have demonstrated incredible resilience throughout the COVID-19 pandemic and are an essential part of what makes our community a great place to live. October 17 to 23 is Small Business Week, which is an important reminder for us to celebrate and support the many small businesses in our community by shopping locally.

Halton Region is here to help businesses start-up, grow an d succeed, all while navigating the COVID-19 pandemic. Here are some supports that Halton Region has to offer:

Helping businesses navigate through the COVID-19 pandemic

Small businesses have navigated many challenges throughout the COVID-19 pandemic, including changing Provincial orders, required health and safety measures and the newly implemented proof of vaccination requirements for certain establishments.

Halton Region Public Health and our Economic Development teams continue to ensure businesses and workplaces have the information they need to maintain safe and healthy workplace environments that protect employees and patrons. Our COVID-19 Resources for Businesses page is a hub for the latest COVID-19 information for businesses, including instructions and guidance from our Medical Officer of Health, public health and safety measures, proof of vaccination requirements and more. Please remember to follow and respect all public health measures in place as you enjoy everything our local shops and restaurants have to offer!

If you are a business owner or operator in Halton, I encourage you to reach out to our team with any questions you may have.
