Regional Chair Gary Carr: 12 years as a Greater Toronto Top Employer

I am pleased to announce that Halton Region has once again received the Greater Toronto’s Top Employers award for 2023! This is the 12th year in a row that Halton Region has been recognized. The annual competition highlights organizations for their progressive practices in areas that include diversity, equity and inclusion, mental health and wellness and resiliency in challenging times.

Submissions are reviewed from public and private, national and international organizations and based on eight areas of criteria. This year, Halton Region was selected based on our:

  • professional development and training opportunities;
  • wellness program;
  • opportunities for recent graduates;
  • supports for parents through parental leave and on-site daycare; and
  • recognition programs highlighting staff achievement

Here is a look at some of our incredible staff and programs

At Halton, we invest in great people who make a positive difference in our community. We employ over 3,300 talented staff who deliver a variety of meaningful programs and services to residents in Burlington, Halton Hills, Milton and Oakville. I am incredibly proud and thankful for the hard work and dedication of our wonderful staff, whose commitment helps make Halton a great place to live, work, raise a family and retire.
