Halton’s waste management programs make it easy for you to reduce waste and keep your neighbourhood clean.
With the arrival of spring, many seasonal waste programs are starting back up. Here is what you need to know:
- Yard waste collection starts again in April (urban areas): Place yard waste at the curb for collection on the same day as garbage – view your collection schedule online. Remember to use a paper yard waste bag or rigid container with a yellow yard waste label.
- Pick up high-quality, complimentary compost: Bring your shovels and containers to the Halton Waste Management Site for our annual compost giveaway event. We will be accepting non-perishable food donations to support charitable partners in the community. Check the Waste Events and Resources page for event details.
- Spring Sunday openings at Halton Waste Management Site: Need more time for your spring cleaning? The Halton Waste Management Site will be open every Sunday between May 1 and June 30 from 8 a.m. to noon.
- Special Waste Drop-off Days near you: Looking to dispose of household hazardous waste and electronics? Check the Waste Events and Resources page to see when the next Special Waste Drop-off Day is happening in your community.
