October marks Community Support Month, a time to recognize the vital services that help older adults to live independently, with dignity and connection, in the communities they call home.
Across our Region, dedicated teams in Services for Seniors are making a profound difference in the lives of seniors with complex needs. Thanks to their compassion and commitment, many older adults can remain safely in their homes.
Our Assisted Living/Supports for Daily Living programs go beyond care, providing 24-hour access to essential personal care supports for seniors living in designated buildings or nearby neighbourhoods.
We’re proud to spotlight the incredible teams at Wellington Terrace and Bonnie Place in Burlington, Martin House Seniors Residence in Milton, and John R. Rhodes Residence in Oakville.
At the heart of these programs are our Community Support Services teams. They work closely with each client to develop customized care plans that reflect individual needs and preferences. Their person-centred care ensures every senior receives the support they need to thrive.
Beyond Assisted Living, our teams also support older adults and individuals with physical disabilities, frail health, Alzheimer’s disease, or related dementias through our Adult Day programs at Milton Place and Friends Landing in Milton, and Silver Creek Place in Georgetown.
These programs provide safe and secure environments where seniors can socialize, engage in cognitive and recreational activities, and form meaningful connections. They also offer respite and peace of mind for caregivers.
What truly sets our staff apart is the deep, compassionate relationships they build with the seniors they serve. Whether in community or day programs, our teams bring warmth, respect, and dedication to every interaction.
