Circular Materials Ontario to take over recycling in Halton in 2026

Starting January 1, Halton Region’s Blue Box recycling will be managed by Circular Materials Ontario. Same collection day, same Blue Box - just new management and more items to recycle.

2026 Budget deliberations at Council

Our annual Budget and Business Plan is our roadmap for keeping Regional taxes and rate increases as low as possible while investing in what matters most to our community.

Key dates to remember as we review the 2026 Budget for approval:

  • Budget Presentations – Dec. 3 at 9:30 a.m.
  • Budget Approval – Dec. 10 at 9:30 a.m.

Halton invests $5.2 million in community safety and well-being

Halton Region is proud to share that in 2024, our community diverted over 58% of residential waste from landfill thanks to the continued efforts and commitment of our residents.
