Halton Region mourns the loss of Niagara Regional Chair Jim Bradley

Halton Region is saddened to learn of the passing of Niagara Regional Chair Jim Bradley, a remarkable leader who dedicated more than 55 years to public service. Halton Region extends our heartfelt condolences to his family, friends, colleagues, and to all whose life he impacted.

Chair Bradley’s career in elected office was exceptional. From his early days as a St. Catharines councillor, through more than four decades as an MPP, to his leadership as Niagara’s Regional Chair, Chair Bradley was known for his kindness, integrity, and unwavering dedication to the people he served.

His impact was felt across Ontario and beyond. As Ontario’s Minister of the Environment, he was a pioneer in shaping modern environmental policy, including the world’s first Blue Box recycling program, a legacy of stewardship that continues to benefit communities today. Closer to home, his advocacy led to lasting investments in areas such as healthcare, infrastructure, and transit that transformed the Niagara Region and improved the quality of life for generations.

Jim Bradley will be remembered as a trusted colleague, a dedicated public servant, and a champion for his community. His lifelong commitment to building stronger, healthier, and more sustainable communities leaves a legacy that will endure for generations.

Halton Region mourns this tremendous loss alongside Chair Bradley’s family, friends, colleagues, and the Niagara community. In honour of Chair Bradley’s extraordinary life and service, flags at all Halton Regional facilities will be lowered from .
