About the study
Halton Region is initiating a Municipal Class Environmental Assessment Study for the intersection of Appleby Line (Regional Road 20) and No. 2 Side Road in the City of Burlington to support the long-term operation of the intersection. The study will consider a wide range of alternatives including intersection improvements and overall traffic operations. The impacts of the improvements on the social, cultural, and natural environments will be assessed and evaluated throughout the study.
Process and consultation
The study will be carried out in accordance with Schedule C of the Municipal Class Environmental Assessment (October 2000, as amended 2007, 2011, 2015, 2023 and 2024), which is an approved process under the Ontario Environmental Assessment Act.
Public and review agency consultation is a key element of the process and input will be sought at key milestones throughout this study. Details regarding upcoming Public Information Centres will be posted to our website as the study progresses. Upon completion of the study, an Environmental Study Report will be prepared and placed on the public record for a minimum 30-day review period. The document will detail the planning and consultation process and the preferred alternative for the corridor.
