About the study
Halton Region is initiating a Schedule B Municipal Class Environmental Assessment Study for the new North Oakville East Wastewater Pumping Station and associated infrastructure.
This infrastructure is required to service planned growth in the North Oakville East Secondary Plan Area and to support the Town of Oakville’s 2031 housing pledge.
Process and consultation
The study will be carried out in accordance with the Municipal Class Environmental Assessment (MCEA) Process (October 2000, as amended 2007, 2011, 2015, 2023 and 2024), which is an approved process under Ontario’s Environmental Assessment Act.
A key component of the MCEA Process is consultation with the public, review agencies, First Nations and Indigenous Communities, and other interested parties. Details regarding an upcoming Public Information Centre will be posted to our website as the study progresses.
Upon completion of the study, a Project File Report will be prepared and placed on the public record for a minimum 30-day review period. The document will detail the planning and consultation process and the preferred solution.
