We are continuing to get our community vaccinated as quickly as possible and I am pleased to share that residents 70 years of age and older (born in or before 1951) can now book an appointment through our online booking system.
Appointments are available for booking in March and April.
We have six vaccination clinics across Halton and they are all running smoothly thanks to the commitment of Regional staff and our partners at Joseph Brant Hospital and Oakville Trafalgar Memorial Hospital. As we move to this next group of eligible residents, I want to once again express my gratitude and appreciation for the hard work and dedication of our staff. The early success of our COVID-19 vaccine program wouldn’t be possible without their hard work and dedication.
How to book an appointment
Eligible residents can continue to book using our easy-to-use online booking system. While booking online is the fastest way to schedule an appointment, residents who require assistance can also call 311. Bookings are not available through the Provincial system; if you access the Provincial system, you will be redirected back to our system. Halton Region has opened COVID-19 Vaccination Clinics in Burlington, Halton Hills, Milton and Oakville and eligible residents can book their vaccination appointment at any one of the clinics. Additional locations will continue to be identified as required.
The following groups are all eligible and can continue to book appointments through our online booking system:
- all Halton residents 70 and older (born in 1951 or earlier);
- Indigenous adults (including First Nations, Métis, and Inuit populations) aged 55 years of age or older;
- staff and essential caregivers from long-term care or retirement homes in Halton who have not received their first dose;
- health care workers identified as highest priority, very high priority and high priority (providing direct, non-virtual care at least once a week) who live OR work in Halton; and
- adults receiving chronic home care through a Local Health Integration Network or a home care agency.
The Province sets the priority groups and Halton Region is required to follow the Province’s implementation plan, including prioritization set by the Provincial government.
If you know someone who is eligible and may need assistance accessing information or booking their appointment, please reach out. Halton Region continues to offer transportation services to and from appointments for residents who require support, free of charge. This includes residents 70 years of age and older.
I’d like to remind residents that although more Halton residents are getting vaccinated each day, we need to continue to follow public health direction: stay home as much as possible, limit trips to essential outings only, maintain a 2 metre distance and wear a mask around anyone you do not live with, and remember to stay home if you are not feeling well, even if your symptoms are mild. Thank you to all our residents who are keeping Halton a great place to live, work, raise a family and retire.
