We’re working closely with our partners to build more assisted and supportive housing as fast as possible for those who need it most. In Acton, construction will start on new supportive housing at 47 Maria Street! This space will provide 12 one-bedroom units for people experiencing homelessness or who need support for mental health or addictions. Our Regional funding of $3.94 million combined with $2 million from the Federal government through Reaching Home: Canada’s Homelessness Strategy (external link) helped Support House (external link) make this project a reality.

With the support of community organizations like Support House, we are working together to implement real solutions to address the housing and homelessness crisis.
We’re making progress.
The Maria Street project is part of our portfolio of in-progress and shovel-ready projects (PDF file) Shovel-ready means that we have water and wastewater services ready for connection, zoning is complete, and projects are ready for investment partnerships to get construction going.
