The holidays are here, and I hope you find time to relax during the “hustle and bustle” of the season.
Essential Regional services remain available to you
Our essential services are here for you 24/7 and throughout the holidays. Call 311 or email our amazing Access Halton team and they will get you the support you need. This website has great information about all our programs and services, including your online waste calendar. Reminder! Waste collection will be delayed by one day in some areas due to Christmas and New Year's Day and Christmas trees are collected curbside the weeks of January 6 and 13.
Thank you to all Halton staff delivering our services over the break.
Taking care of each other
Mental health
This season, please check in with your neighbours, friends, and family. The holidays can be difficult for those missing loved ones or others struggling with the pressures of dinners and gifts. Other great resources, including links to mental health support in the community, can be found at halton.ca/mentalhealth.
Homelessness
If you see or suspect someone is experiencing homelessness or might need emergency shelter, please call 311 or contact outreach@halton.ca. Outreach support for those experiencing a mental health crisis is also available through the Crisis Outreach and Support Team (COAST) at: 1-877-825-9011 (available 24/7). If a situation is life threatening, please call 911.
Wishing you and your family a safe and happy holiday season!
