Key messages for healthcare providers
- The Ministry of Health recommends a COVID-19 vaccine dose for previously vaccinated individuals who have completed their primary series and are at increased risk of COVID-19 infection:
- Adults 65 years of age and older.
- Adult residents of long-term care homes and other congregate living settings for seniors.
- Individuals 6 months of age and older who are moderately to severely immunocompromised (due to an underlying condition or treatment).
- Individuals 55 years and older who identify as First Nations, Inuit, or Métis and their non-Indigenous household members who are 55 years and older.
- Individuals who do not meet the high-risk criteria are recommended to wait to receive dose(s) in the Fall. This includes individuals who are unimmunized or need to complete a primary series. This will ensure optimal protection against circulating strains in Fall 2025.
- Provincial inventory of Moderna KP.2 expires on June 17, 2025, and will no longer be available after this date. Ensure that quantities ordered will be administered on or before June 17, 2025.
