I am pleased to announce that two new paramedic stations have officially opened–Station 15 in Oakville and Station 16 in Milton! These new stations have been operational since August 26, 2020 and provide a critical service to these growing communities. They are now operating 24 hours a day, seven days a week, providing urgent medical care to area residents.

Both stations are in strategic locations within the community to reduce response times and address increasing call volumes as the local population grows. Being part of the neighbourhood also means being a good neighbour, which is why Stations 15 and 16 feature advanced technology including drive-through bays to reduce noise and downward projecting exterior lighting to minimize impact on nearby properties.

Station 15 in southwest Oakville at 289 Woodside Drive will serve Halton residents from Great Lakes Boulevard to Kerr Street and the QEW to the Lake Ontario. Station 16 in Milton at 6650 Fifth Line will serve residents from Thompson Road to Hwy 407 and Hwy 401 to Britannia Road.

Thank you to everyone involved in these important projects and to our paramedics who will serve these neighbourhoods!

Delivering timely, advanced and heroic care

Our dedicated team of nearly 300 primary care, advanced care, bike and tactical paramedics respond to more than 50,000 calls and transport more than 30,000 patients to area hospitals each year. From emergency response to educating our community through programs like CPR and AED training, we have an incredible team keeping us safe and healthy.

Halton’s paramedics have played a critical role throughout the COVID-19 pandemic providing frontline service to residents in need. A great example of this is their role in providing on-site COVID-19 testing services in our local long-term care and retirement homes for our most vulnerable residents. More recently, our paramedics have also been out in the community providing the flu shot to those who are most vulnerable and are unable to visit a doctor or pharmacy due to mobility issues.

Thank you again to our paramedics for their heroic efforts in continuing to deliver timely, advanced emergency care to our community! Halton continues to be one of the best places to live, work, raise a family and retire because of these everyday heroes, who are there for us when we need it most.
