Regional Chair Gary Carr: Stay connected on construction in your community

Jul 03, 2020

Halton Region is committed to providing our community with the critical infrastructure needed to maintain the programs and services that we all rely on. We are repaving roads to keep residents and commuters safe, installing watermains to provide high-quality drinking water to homes and making upgrades to wastewater treatment plants that help protect the environment. Through these projects and so many others, we are building a better Halton every day.

Essential construction work has continued over the past several months while Regional staff and contractors have been following health and safety guidelines set out by the Province and Public Health to help stop the spread of COVID-19. As the Province reopens and more residents are heading back to work, traffic is increasing on Regional roads. To help you plan ahead for construction activity and drive safely, you can visit the Construction Projects page on halton.ca to:

  • sign up to get project updates and notices by email;
  • use our online map to see projects happening across the region; and
  • check out project webpages to learn more and stay up-to-date on road closures, lane restrictions or detours.

You can also follow us on social media on Twitter, Facebook and LinkedIn, email accesshalton@halton.ca, or call 311 to connect with a Construction Ambassador and ask a question about a project happening in your neighbourhood.

Thank you for your patience as we work to ensure our growing community has the infrastructure and services it needs for today and for years to come. Together, we can keep Halton a great place to live, work, raise a family and retire.
