 Online Prenatal Classes

Engaging and interactive online prenatal classes are free and available to all residents of Halton. Learn about pregnancy, natural childbirth techniques, labour and birth, breastfeeding, newborn care, Canadian Nutrition Guidelines, and Halton resources/supports. You can learn at your own pace. These classes are made for you; whether you are having your first baby or expecting another child, whether you are a parent-to-be or a support person.

  • Five self-directed online classes include:

Learn about pregnancy, watch 3D animated videos of how your baby is developing, and learn how to minimize discomforts you may experience.
    • Understanding natural childbirth techniques
Learn about how to make informed decisions, how to prepare for a birth that has the least amount of medical intervention possible, and how to build your sense of confidence as you embark on your unique pregnancy and birth.
    • Understanding birth
Get a sense of what labour is really like as you watch several birth stories and create your own birth plan.
    • Understanding breastfeeding
Learn about breastfeeding through videos including the importance of breastfeeding and how to set yourself up for success and manage common problems.
    • Understanding your newborn
Learn how to care for your newborn, how to read your baby’s cues and why bonding is so important for brain development.
  • Easily accessible from your computer, phone or tablet.
  • Available in 8 languages: English, French, Spanish, German, Portuguese, Chinese, Japanese, and Arabic.
  • Includes videos, quizzes and additional resources, with accessibility features like audio voiceover, closed captioning, seizure-safe options and ADHD-friendly profiles.
