Ontario Seniors Dental Care Program

 
The new Ontario Seniors Dental Care Program (OSDCP) is a government-funded dental care program. It provides free, routine dental services for low-income seniors who are 65 years of age or older. Access to the full range of dental services varies across the province and the program will continue to expand in 2019 and 2020. Learn more about this program below.

Who is eligible for the Ontario Seniors Dental Care Program?

You may be eligible if you:

  • are 65 or older
  • are a resident of Ontario
  • have an annual net income of $19,300 or less for a single person or a combined annual net income of $32,300 or less for a couple
  • have no access to any other form of dental benefits (for example, private insurance or other government program)

What services are covered?

  • Examinations and assessments
  • Preventative services
  • Restorative services to repair broken teeth and cavities
  • X-rays
  • Oral surgery to remove teeth or abnormal tissue
  • Anesthesia
  • Endodontic services to treat infection and pain
  • Periodontal services to treat gum conditions and diseases

Partial coverage is provided for prosthodontic services, including dentures.

How do I apply?

Online:

  1. Visit www.ontario.ca/SeniorsDental and select the 'apply online' button.
  2. Complete the online application form.
  3. Print and sign the Consent form.
  4. Mail the Consent form to:

           Station P, P.O. Box 159
           Toronto, ON M5S 2S7

What happens if I’m approved?

If you are approved for the program you will be mailed a welcome package and a dental card.

If I’m approved for the program, how do I receive dental care?

If you have been approved for the program and have received an OSDCP welcome package and dental card, please call 311.

If you are a senior with low income and no dental benefits, who has a dental emergency involving pain or infection and urgently need dental care, please call 311.
