Regional Road 25 Municipal Class Environmental Assessment Study from Speers Road to Derry Road (Regional Road 7), Town of Oakville and Town of Milton, PR-3379A and PR-3392A

Study

Halton Region is carrying out a Municipal Class Environmental Assessment (MCEA) study for Regional Road 25 from Speers Road to Derry Road (Regional Road 7) in the Towns of Oakville and Milton. The MCEA study is considering a wide range of multi-modal transportation improvements, including widening the roadway, cross-sectional requirements, active transportation, transit supportive infrastructure, intersection improvements, and overall traffic operations. The impacts of transportation improvements on social, cultural, and natural environments will be assessed and evaluated throughout the study.

Process

The study is being carried out in accordance with Schedule C of the Municipal Class Environmental Assessment (MCEA) (October 2000, as amended 2007, 2011, 2015 and 2023), which is an approved process under the Ontario Environmental Assessment Act.

A key component of the study is consultation with interested parties (public and review agencies) through Public Information Centres (PIC). The purpose of the first PIC is to review and obtain public input on the study area needs and opportunities, background information, selection of the preferred solution, and next steps in the study. Anyone with an interest in this study is invited to participate virtually.
