Halton Regional Allocation Programs
Halton Region shares the Provincial goal of building more homes, faster. We accelerate growth by planning, financing and delivering transportation, water and wastewater infrastructure. Halton’s Allocation Programs help fund the timely construction of growth-related infrastructure to support the Local Municipalities in meeting their housing pledges and increasing the housing supply.
On July 10, 2024, Halton Regional Council received report CA-19-24/FN-20-24/PW-19-24 (PDF file) confirming the launch of the 2023 Allocation Program. It joins other active programs from 2008/2009, 2012 and 2020.
As part of this report, the Region committed to producing an Annual Enhanced Growth Monitoring report. This report will provide additional information and updates that will inform how servicing capacity will meet accelerated timelines for development. In preparation for this report, the Region is inviting those 2023 Allocation Program participants with IDUs seeking a conversion to SDEs to submit their requests from May 13 through May 27, 2025. 2020 Allocation Program participants who are looking for top ups greater than the 10 SDEs permitted through their agreement may also submit a request to be considered during this timeframe. Further updates about this report and a response to the submissions will be provided as they become available.
If you have questions about any of our Allocation Programs, please email allocationprogram@halton.ca or visit our Development Charges page.
