This week is Halton’s annual Physician Appreciation Week. I would like to recognize and thank all of Halton’s physicians in our community for their hard work and dedication keeping our community safe and healthy.

Halton is home to almost 1,200 physicians, including more than 700 family doctors. As our community continues to grow, we are committed to ensuring residents have access to excellent family doctors.

The Halton Region Health Department works closely with physicians to help connect residents with the important health services they need. The Health Department supports local physicians by providing public health learning opportunities and helping them maintain their practices in the region.

The Health Department also helps our physicians keep Halton healthy by working with them to protect the community from communicable diseases, supporting new families with pregnancy, postpartum and parenting support, helping residents make healthy lifestyle choices and more. By continuing to support our local physicians, we can ensure residents have continued access to the medical services they need, now and in the future.

Looking for a family doctor?

Halton residents are fortunate that there are always physicians in our community who are accepting new patients. If you are looking for a new family physician, visit Physicians Accepting New Patients on our website or call 311 for a list of physicians accepting new patients.

On behalf of Regional Council, I’d like to wish all of Halton’s physicians a wonderful Physician Appreciation Week! By partnering with our local physicians, we can ensure Halton remains a safe and healthy community and a great place to live, work raise a family and retire.
