Halton’s highly trained paramedics help keep our community safe each and every day by providing urgent medical care to residents when they need it most. In celebration of these local heroes, Halton is hosting its third annual Paramedic Day on Saturday, June 1, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at our Woodlands Operations Centre in Oakville (1179 Bronte Road).

Residents of all ages are invited to get a behind-the-scenes look at Halton Region’s Paramedic Services. Bring the entire family to tour the inside of an emergency vehicle, try on tactical gear, visit the bike helmet safety clinic or participate in a variety of fun activities for kids. Residents looking to improve their own life-saving skills can also learn about cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) and visit a first aid station.

Halton is fortunate to have more than 270 paramedics who serve our community 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Each year, our team responds to more than 50,000 calls and transports more than 30,000 patients to hospitals in our region.

Halton’s Paramedic Services team also provides a number of educational activities to keep our community safe, such as life-saving and emergency programs and training for residents and businesses across the region. These programs help educate residents who want to learn how to respond to a cardiovascular emergency such as a cardiac arrest, heart attack or stroke.

Let’s continue to show our support and appreciation for our paramedics not only during Paramedic Day, but throughout the year.

Join Halton’s paramedics on Saturday, June 1 and take advantage of this great opportunity to connect with these everyday heroes. Halton continues to be one of the best places to live, work and raise a family because of the women and men of our Paramedic Services team, who dedicate themselves to providing critical medical care and emergency transportation to our residents.
