Regional Chair Gary Carr: Thank you to our Public Works staff

May 19, 2020

While our Regional facilities remain closed at this time, we have continued to provide critical services that so many of our residents rely on each and every day. For National Public Works Week, we’d like to recognize Public Works staff that have continued their important work behind-the-scenes to serve our community and maintain the high quality of life that we enjoy in Halton.

I would like to shine a light on our incredible Water and Wastewater teams who have continued to work 24/7 throughout this pandemic. These staff show up every day to make sure you have access to safe, high-quality drinking water that you can enjoy each time you turn on the tap. These teams also play a critical role in making sure that wastewater continues to be treated and is safely discharged back into the environment. Please take a moment to view the personal story of one of our Environmental Lab Analysts – thank you for maintaining these important services during this time!

Behind every empty recycling bin and every item diverted from the landfill, there is a member of our waste management team who has come to work to help keep our neighbourhoods clean and make a positive impact on our environment. Please watch the personal story of one of our Waste Management Operators below – thank you for all that you are doing for our community!

For all of the work you are doing and continue to do, thank you!
