Regional Chair Gary Carr: Have your say—Help shape our community!

Nov 13, 2020

Over the past few months, Halton Region has been engaging with our community as we have undertaken the Regional Official Plan review process. The Official Plan guides land-use policies in the region and helps us plan for the needs of our growing community in the years ahead—whether it’s building new homes and businesses, creating sustainable, low-carbon communities, or supporting our farms and agricultural community.

There are still ways for you to get involved and have your say on the review process. We are looking for feedback on a supplemental discussion paper that was developed to review the Major Transit Station Area and Urban Growth Centre in Downtown Burlington. The Region has been working with the City of Burlington to consider the Major Transit Station Area designation and to examine options to adjust the Urban Growth Centre boundary to generally align with lands around the Burlington GO Station.

To provide feedback on the Burlington Urban Growth and Major Transit Station Area discussion paper, visit our website to:

  • participate in a virtual consultation online or by phone on November 19 or 25;
  • take our topic-specific survey by December 22; and
  • read the supplemental discussion paper to learn more.

If you are looking for an alternative format of the survey, discussion paper or PIC materials, please call 311 or email accesshalton@halton.ca.

Thank you for your participation in the Regional Official Plan Review! By providing your valuable input on the review process, we can ensure Halton remains a great place to live, work, raise a family and retire for years to come.  To learn more and sign up to receive email updates on the review process, please visit halton.ca/ropr.
