Halton Food Connect supports Ontario Works clients with their food needs. Eligible clients can get free food packages sent directly to their homes.

 

What is Halton Food Connect?

Halton Food Connect supports Ontario Works clients with their food needs. Eligible clients can get free food packages delivered directly to their homes. Food packages have a nutritious mix of protein and fresh fruits and vegetables. Clients can customize their package to meet allergy, dietary and cultural needs.

Halton Region works with Burlington Food Bank, Food for Life and Kerr Street Mission to run the program.

 

Who is eligible?

You may be eligible for this program if you:

  • live in Halton Region,
  • receive Ontario Works,
  • are not receiving a rent-geared-to-income subsidy (an assisted housing program), and 
  • do not reside in the Lighthouse or Halton Women’s Place shelters.
 

How can I register?

You can register for Halton Food Connect at haltonfoodconnect.ca/registration/ (external link) or by calling 905-581-FOOD (3663).

During registration, you will need to:

  • choose one of the available protein options – halal ground beef, halal chicken drumsticks, boneless skinless salmon fillets, or tofu;
  • choose delivery dates and times that work for your schedule; and
  • declare any allergy or dietary restrictions.
