2020 has been a challenging year for so many and during the pandemic we have continued to make sure that residents and businesses have access to our essential services. With so many of us at home and generating more household waste, we knew that our community would rely on our curbside collection services more than ever. With some minor adjustments throughout the year, we have maintained our critical curbside collection programs including Blue Box, Green Cart, Yard Waste, garbage and drop-off services, while keeping our community safe. Many of you have likely experienced the enhanced measures at the
Halton Waste Management Site and have been following our curbside collection safety tips to keep you and our collection crews safe. Thank you for taking these measures seriously while making sure you are putting your waste in the right place!
We continue to work with our contractors to make sure you have access to these essential programs in the safest way possible. I want to remind you of some things that you can do to keep our crews safe. This includes bagging and tying all garbage and Green Cart material, wrapping all mattresses and box springs in plastic before placing at the curb, ensuring that your bins or bags do not exceed 50 pounds and can be collected safely. It is also really important that you continue to wash your hands or use sanitizer before and after managing your curbside waste.
