COVID-19 has presented many challenges to our community, including difficulties finding work across different industries as businesses closed temporarily or modified operations to keep our community safe. As we continue to move forward together and more businesses are able to reopen, we are dedicated to helping residents find meaningful work through our programs and services.
Each year, Employment Halton supports job seekers and employers with recruitment, training and access to online job boards. During COVID-19, they’ve continued to provide this essential service virtually, by phone and by email to ensure job seekers and employers have access to the help they need.
If you are looking for work, I encourage you to connect with our Employment Halton team for their support, including:
- job search and placement support;
- career advice and guidance;
- interview and resumé preparation; and
- training and development opportunities.
Our dedicated team also provides youth employment programs, like Youth Job Connection, an online program for individuals 15 to 29 years old who are currently unemployed, not attending or returning to full-time school or training, and looking for a job or career. I encourage any eligible individuals to learn more about the program and to register for one of our fall sessions on the Youth Job Connection page.
