Since 2003, Halton Region and the City of Burlington have been advocating against a new Provincial highway that would cut through the escarpment in North Burlington.
Halton Regional Council unanimously opposes a new highway crossing the Niagara Escarpment and is working with the City of Burlington and residents to ensure our voices are heard at the Provincial level.
September 5, 2013: The Ministry of Transportation has released the Final Transportation Development Strategy Report for the Niagara to GTA Planning and Environmental Assessment Study. The final Strategy will be available for a 60-day review period ending on November 4, 2013. The completion of the Final Transportation Development Strategy represents the conclusion of Phase 1 of the NGTA study. Comments and input received during the review period will be collected by MTO to assist with Phase 2 of the study.

October 24, 2012: Halton Region and the City of Burlington hosted a community meeting for the public to learn more about the project and express their views.
